The famous cathedral Notre-Dame de Paris and its Gothic style is located in the center of Paris on the island of the city. Its construction began in 1163 and ended more than two centuries later in 1345. In the cathedral three relics of Christ are preserved: the crown of thorns, a cross of the cross and one of the nails with which Christ would be crucified.
On April 15, 2019, a violent fire destroyed the spire and the entire roof covering the nave, choir and transept. Vaults forming the ceiling also collapse (that of the choir, a span in the nave, and that of the north transept). Two days later, the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, announces its reopening within five years.
