Saint-Louis Island is one of the two islands (with the Île de la Cité) located on the Seine in the center of Paris. The island is connected to the rest of Paris by bridges to the left and right of the river (Pont de Sully, Pont Louis-Philippe, Pont Marie and Pont de la Tournelle) on the "ile de la cité''.
Saint-Louis Island is one of the first examples of French territory planning. The island with narrow, one-way streets forms an oasis of peace in the bustling downtown of Paris and does not have a subway station but two bus stops. Attractions include St. Louis-en-l'Île Church, the Adam-Mickiewicz Library and the famous Berthillon icebox.
