The Basilica of the Sacred Heart is the most famous of the basilicas of Paris. It is located on the hill of Montmartre in the 18th district of Paris at 10 minutes on foot from the Hotel Migny. It is dedicated to the cult of the Sacred Heart. The church is characterized by its luminous appearance and its important location on a hill. To reach the church, you will have to climb 222 steps or take the funicular Montmartre (cable car). Above, you have a prodigious view over much of Paris. At night you can enjoy a breathtaking panorama. You will be less than a quarter of an hour's walk to the Hotel Migny.

The Sacred Heart is entirely derived from travertine, a fairly soft and slightly porous stone from the department of Seine-et-Marne. The travertine is made of limestone and produces a white lime on the outside with rain, leaving the basilica of very white color.
